Seabrook Island, formerly known as Simmons Island, is a barrier island in Charleston CountySouth Carolina, United States. The population was 1,714 at the 2010 census,[6] up from 1,250 in 2000. Seabrook Island is located less than 30 minutes from downtown historic Charleston, South Carolina and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Bohicket Marina and Edisto Creek. This 2200-acre island has more than three miles of beach, marshes, and maritime forest. There are no hotels or high-rise condominiums. Seabrook real estate also offers two championship golf courses, professional tennis facilities, an equestrian center with horse trails on and around the beach, a full-service marina with a restaurant and shops, summer camps for the kids, nature tours, and inshore and offshore fishing.

Beaches

Seabrook Island has hundreds of acres of land that are home The island’s 3 miles of beaches are a critical habitat for turtles and birds, but they are also dog-friendly. The North Lagoon Beach is the most secluded and uninhabited beach on the island, and dogs are allowed to run off-leash. North Beach is the widest beach on the island and a great place to view dolphins. Pelican Beach, often called the sunset beach due to the beautiful sunsets, has almost no waves, so it is great for families with young children.

Seabrook Club

Seabrook Island is Charleston’s only truly private oceanfront Community. Club Membership is required for Ownership. Club Amenity use is for Members and their Guests only. The Lake House is available to Property Owners and their Guests only. Club Members enjoy all of the amenities at Seabrook Island Club, including two challenging golf courses, the Racquet Club, the Equestrian Center, the Lake House fitness center, the Beach Club, and exceptional dining. A full calendar of organized sporting and social events is also available to Members throughout the year.
